The bonded pair were racing through the skies, flying through clouds and facing the bitter wind. "Ow! That hurt my head! Don't yell next time!" replied Asha, beating her wings as hard as they could go. The skies were cold. Asha kept her body warm with her regulating heat. Candy didn't have a lot like Asha, so she just kept close to her. Suddenly, Asha dived down into the air like a bird would do for it's next meal. The wind beat against their faces, making their eyes squint so they wouldn't dry out as much. The pair loved flying. Not as much as they loved each other like sisters, though. When flying, they felt free, like nothing could harm them. They could do whatever they pleased, whatever they wanted. And in order to feel this feeling, all they had to do was fly. "Hey, Asha. Let's head towards the ground and explore the place." "Sounds good to me." Soon enough, they landed gently upon the dry terf. Their eyes wandered the scenery. The grass was dead, the few trees were dead. Everything seemed to be dead. Candy smirked. "Well, I have a feeling that once Spring comes around, everything will be beautiful. I can't wait." Asha just nodded in reply. She was tired and hot, wanting to bathe in a stream or just somewhere where there was water. The vixen snorted and ruffled her mane by shaking her head. Candy? Can we go find some water? I'm hot and thirsty." "Sure, let's just keep it at a walk. You don't need to fly anymore. It was fun while it lasted." sighed Candy. Sometimes you just need a break from the fun. "Well, I think I still have some spunk in me. It'd be easier to find water anyway." Candy shrugged. "True. You ready?" "Ready when you are." "Let's go!" laughed Candy as they took off once more, this time at a slower pace. After searching through the long meadows, they finally found a small creek buried in a group of trees. They swung down and landed easily. Candy hoped off swiftly and landed with a thump upon the ground. She patted Asha's hock a couple times, signaling to go on ahead. Looking around, she found a rock to sit comfortably up against. Propeling himself fowards. Swooshing sound.Like he controled the skies. Well, he was stronger then all those meager birds there were around. His size was one thing, then there were his talonus claws and then his legs that could lash out and kick an enemy with enough force to kill a wild cat. And then of course there was his beak sharp enough to snatch any bird out of the sky. And it did often, great way to find food. The great beast leapt foward in the sky swerving down at a dangerous angle as he grabbed a burd out of the sky and swallowed it whole. "Gladiator, don't do that!" said the voice of a girl. She was stregtening herself out on the beasts back. "I almost fell," she said locking her knees into her bonded's sides to keep herself from falling, it certinly was a long he away to the ground and she didn't want to make the trip. "Then you should learn to stay on better," he retorted jerking his head back. "You know I'm better then that," she said jokingly. "Maybe," was the only reply she received, the voice teasing her. "Well," said Liz rolling her eyes at the stupididty of the great creature. "Well what?" he asked not letting her get away with anything, "Nothing!" The two of them soard through the skies in silence. Admiring the beauty of everything. The pearly clouds, the tiny specs. "To think," said Liz looking down, "One of those tiny specs could be an elephant." "I thought you were going to say to think, I used to be afraid of flying," snorted the animal beating his wings ever faster rising in the sky. "That too," smiled Liz remembering when she would throw her arms around Gladiators neck close her eyes and not open them till all four of his feet were saflyon the ground. Well, she had definitly gotten better. Of course, after her large amount of riding experiance that made the change easier. But still, riding a hippogruph was a lot different then riding a horse. The feathere beast continued, "Well, it's a lot more comfortable for me without your hands closing around my throught," Liz looked down for a second. "Sorry about that," Lis said slightly ashamed. "Tis okay," he replyed. In a minute Liz threw her arms around his neck, not for support, but to hug him. "Cut it out!" he scowled angling himselg at odd angles, "You screwing up my flight pattern," he said. Once again liz said, "Sorry," Gladiator made a path downwards. Leaning back Liz cried, "Where are you going?" Gkladuatir snorted still gathering speed, "To get water," as his words Liz realized how hungry she was and waited till she felt the impact of ground beneath them. "Can't you do that a little slower?" asked Liz as she slid off his back. As the beast shook his head she sighed before looking around and spotting another girl who appearwedd to be about a year or so older then her, and an alicorn. She was just a baby, she dreamt, and in the arms on a woman. The woman, she guessed, was her mother. She was beautiful. nothing like those fake people who try to hard in the magazines. No, her mother was just beautiful, but she just couldn't explain how. It was like Albert Eistein trying to explain the laws of physics to a child. Impossible. Nearby and on her guard, Asha still drank her water, taking in small sip by small sip. She didn't want to gain all that water weight. But what was an alicorn doing worrying about weight? "You never know..." Asha thought to herself, but remembered that Candy would here it. And that's where Candy's dream ended. "You never know what?" asked Candy, looking with tired eyes toward Asha. But the mare never answered. Her ears perked up quickly, drawing her full attention to the soft thump of something, or someone, landing. Lobes lay flat upon her skull, seeing the strangers. Being protective of Candy, she trotted almost in a grunge type gait. Asha snorted loudly. Candy looked a her and telepathically said, ”Asha, chill out. It’s just another bonded. It’s fine. If things get bad, we’ll handle it.” She laid a soft hand gently upon one of Asha’s fore limbs. Communicating through her mind she said, "Twi, lets go get some water." The sleeping Alicorn blinked in the sunlight then grudgingly replied, "Fine. Lets go." Now on top of Twi, Van'ya smiled. She loved riding Twilight, as much as Twilight loved flying. They shared a strong bond, Elf and Alicorn. Their minds were connected, as well as their hearts. "Where to?" Asked the now-awake Twilight. "Hmmm... Okala Meadow has a nice stream I think." Van'ya replied. "You're the boss, V." Van'ya just laughed as Twilight took off into the air. "Whooo!!!" She screamed into the air, laughing. Even at 100 she still loved actiing like a teenager. Twilight laughed and took a plunge toward Okala Meadow. This place was always so beautiful, anytime of year.
